I am a HUGE fan of cities, architecture, and the modernized, yet slightly grubby look of old industrial buildings. Which is also why I love when couples look for such things when planning their wedding. When I was planning mine, I knew a few things: which guy was to be it (duh), that I wanted to party and that I wanted an urban venue. It wasn’t easy finding something that matched our expectations and after asking around for quotes and visiting places, we ended up with our first choice after all.
To make it a little bit easier for you, I put together this list of gorgeous, industrial-chic wedding venues where you can get married or have a wonderful dinner. So let’s start!

Giesserei Oerlikon, Zürich (ZH)
The Giesserei Oerlikon is a former foundry where nowadays you can choose between different rooms for your celebration. The Werkstatt holds up to 80 people wheaeas the Metally- Cynar- and Chéminéeraum can host events with up to 200 people.
Ristorante Rosso, Zürich (ZH)
Located smack at the centre of hip “Kreis 4” in Zurich, Rosso has what style-lovers are looking for: Lots of concrete, great food and surroundings that basically ask for a photo-session.

Giesserei Baden (AG)
A pretty huge room that takes my breath away every time I see it. Unfortunately, this is only suitable for big weddings but maybe that’s exactly what you’re planning? Located right at the river in a quiet industrial complex you’ll definitely have a relaxed wedding with a neverending party.
Dampfzentrale Bern (BE)
Switzerland’s capital has many great venues and yet the Dampfzentrale manages to stand out. The spacious room can comfortably fit up to 120 people and while you will be dining and partying amidst concrete walls and metal pillars you’ll have all the modern amenities around you and - even better - the river Aare just a stone’s throw away.

Stanzerei Baden (AG)
Just a few steps away from the train station you can find this gem: a room with a bar, a stage and even a small enclosed courtyard so you and your guest can celebrate privately whilst still being in the center of town.

Papiersaal/Folium, Zürich (ZH)
In the center of Zurich, at the foot of the Uetliberg, you’ll find a wonderfully versatile venue called the Papiersaal. Located right at the Sihlcity Shopping Center it offers not only a urban feel but also a train station basically in front of the station and a contrast with nearby nature.
Komturei Tobel (TG)
A quiet little place, set apart from the quaint town it is found in, the Komturei Tobel is the perfect venue for couples who want to celebrate in style and yet party unitl the morning. The huge garden/lawn area allows you to enjoy a drink outside while watching the sun set. Fun fact: The Komturei even has its own beer that you’ll have to try!
