2019. What a year it has been. I feel like I’ve constantly been juggling work for the paper and the weddings I adore so much. Which is why I’ve decided to cut down on photojournalism next year and truly focus on my own little business a bit more. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the work I do for the paper but the hours can be crazy and I’ve realized that if I don’t have a good enough balance I lose creativity which isn’t good for either of my job.

This year has been a blast, though. I got to capture weddings of so many wonderful couples and haven’t been able to show you even a small bit of them yet. So this is why I’ll try to fit in as many of my highlights in this best-of-post.

There were Nicole and Vincenzo, whose civil wedding I photographed two years ago and who booked me as soon as they had set a date for their “big” wedding day. There were Chantal and Sandro who showed their freaking balls of steel when hopping onto Stand-Up-Paddles after their beautiful ceremony in the shouthern part of Switzerland. Or Martina and Ingo who let me check a big item off my bucket list when they let me fly with them in a helicopter. There were Silvia and Markus who had one of the world’s best magicians do some magic at their wedding. And Andrea and Samuel who gifted me with the most wonderful season finale that will resonate with me for a long, long time. Josie and David during whose ceremony I was bawling like almost everybody because of the emotional vows they gave each other. Nadja and Marcel, who had two very special guests at their wedding, Melanie and Stefan who traveled all the way from Australia to get married in the stunning Swiss Alps, Nadine and Patrik with their sweet pup Cora who booked me just a few weeks before their big day (the humans, not the dog), Patrizia and Antonio who didn’t even know I’d be there, Patricia and Etienne who looked like freaking movie-stars while riding the cutest bike, Tanja who sang a song for her love Stefan and so many more beautiful people inside and out. I’m greatful to each and every one of them for the memories they let me capture and the memories they let me make for myself.

If 2020 is only half as amazing as 2019 was, it’ll be a freaking great one.
