Originally, Valerie and Pascal had planned their big day for June 2021. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-Situation in Switzerland at that point, they weren’t able to celebrate as planned and had to postpone into September. And although I was already booked on their new date, I felt really touched that both of them asked me to still photograph their civil ceremony for them. And I’m so glad for that, because it was a blast!
Not only was the weather absolutely perfect, but the owners of the beautiful, privately owned Schloss zum Einhorn, where their wedding was to be held in fall, allowed us to use their garden for the couple’s shoot. So Valerie and Pascal still had a bit of their planned wedding on their impromptu day. And of course, the two of them are an absolute hoot to be around. I have known Valerie for a few years as we’ve played volleyball in the same team and always knew her as being the silly, fun one who always had everyone cracking up with her comments. And when I met Pascal I was so glad to see she had found someone who matched her energy and was as easy-going as she was. And they implemented that into their day: It was to be a laid-back affair in a family member’s home, lots of fun and all in all a celebration of their love. And seeing the pictures, I think they succeeded.
Vali and Pascal, thank you so much for having me, thanks for letting me be a part of your day and only the best for your future together! I hope our paths will cross again (and again and again).
