Adrienne and Raphael’s big celebration on the shores of Lake Sempach was an unusually hot May Saturday that made it feel more like a mid-summer wedding. As we don’t often get such days in Switzerland, no one seemed to mind and instead enjoyed the sunshine and some refreshing drinks on the lawn after the ceremony.

A month earlier, I had already photographed their civil wedding at Schloss Wildegg, where Adrienne rocked a pink suit instead of a traditional dress (and I loved it!). This time, she went for a bold wedding dress with a partially see-through corsage—and let me tell you, she absolutely rocked it. Brides, grab the dresses - or suits - you feel comfortable in! It’s your day and you’ll most likely not wear the outfit multiple times, so just do what feels right for you. I would definitely love to see more individual styles like the ones Adrienne chose!

But back to their day: The ceremony, held by a friend of the couple, was heartfelt and personal. The friend did such an incredible job that I wish she would officiate more weddings—I’d recommend her in a heartbeat. Adrienne and Raphael also saw to it that the ceremony was fun by gifting every guest a little cardboard suitcase with their name on it. The thing about it: inside was a shot, that all the guests took simoultaneously. An unexpected thing which made almost everyone laugh.

The whole day had a relaxed, joyful vibe. Guests sipped drinks, took selfies, and enjoyed the stunning lakeside view. The decor reflected Adrienne and Raphael’s love for adventure: the tables were named after places they had visited on their trip around the world, the little shot-suitcase reflected it as well and even the wedding cake, fit the travel theme perfectly. All in all, this was a beautiful day with a beautiful couple. Although it might not have come to it, if not everything had fallen perfectly into place: Adrienne and Raphael’s story is one of those funny "how did we never meet earlier?" situations. They grew up in the same village but never crossed paths until much later, when they ended up working at the same company. It wasn’t until a work outing brought their teams together that they finally met—and the rest is history.

Adrienne and Raphael, thank you for letting me be a part of your journey. Wishing you many more adventures together—both on the road and in life!
